fig 1.1: "Destroying nature is destroying life."-Robin Wood (image source) |
In the artwork, the unrealistic proportion serves as a intentional
choice to bring a deeper metaphorical meaning. By picturing the deer in a
manner that suggests it is being directly affected by the destruction of
its environment, the artist blurs the boundaries between the natural world
and the creatures that inhabit it. This distortion of
proportion serves to emphasize the intimate connection between the
deer and its habitat while it emphasize the animals are dying or going to
extinction because of the deforestation.
The artwork effectively shows both themes of the strong nature and the
destructive impact of human intervention. Whether through the
contrasts in color, empty ground, or tree lines, the impact of human
intervention on the environment is well-defined. This intentional
exaggeration or emphasis on deforestation serves to the issue and
inspire an emotional response from the viewer. The balance between the illustration of the deer and the
representation of the forest plays a crucial role in giving the message of
environmental destruction caused by deforestation and not too many of any of
it.
By raising awareness and getting ready for action, this illustration has
the potential to contribute to the collective efforts to address
environmental challenges and build a more sustainable and resilient future
for all living beings. Furthermore, the illustration acts as a call to
action, motivating people to take concrete steps, such as supporting
reforestation programs, influencing for responsible land use approaches, and
lowering their bad environmental impact. It promotes a sense of duty and
empowerment, encouraging people to become protective over the environment
and make positive changes.(334 words)
