Project 2 Shooting & Editing

TASK

This task involved us forming groups that all ready formed by Mr. Martin to film shots and then individually assembling them.

Group Forming

One week before the shooting day, we divided into groups. There were 2 groupings. The first group was filming from "SILENT", while the second group was from the Netflix series "BEEF". I was assigned to group S or "SILENT".

Project 2B

Process

Before shooting I had all shots that i wanted drawn out first so I would not forget later on. I also planned on the title and the color tone. I use my phone camera to shoot, thankfully it has a pro mode which I can adjust for the color tone and brightness and remain consistent through out every shots. I borrowed a tripod from my friend although I bought a tripod but its too short and small for my scenes.

I added external sound effect for the footsteps and carefully adjusted the audio just like I learned from task 1.
Even I use left and right audio pan so it sounds realistic and cool when using headphones.

I use masking for the transition for the title and the walking transition

I only use 20/28 videos that I took

REFLECTION

Participating in this project was a really interesting experience. Although I had previously created storyboards, this was my first time really participating in a real-world filming production. A profound respect and comprehension of the nuances of camerawork was one of the experience's main lessons. A scenario had to be conceptualized, reference photos had to be taken, settings had to be documented, test shots had to be set up, the final shot had to be adjusted, sound had to be added, and color grading was a necessary step in the process. What impressed me more than these technical details was how the project led me through every stage. Its success in achieving my aim was largely attributed to this methodical approach.
