Project 1b 2: Coloring

In this project Mr. Martin gave us several black and white images that is originally B&W no colored version can be found. We have to give them color.

This is the picture I chose it's a picture of "Willow" in black and white.

I searched another picture of willow in google in a photoshoot with similar lighting effect. and make the color palette. But I also did some custom colors to make it more natural.

First thing I did is the hair, then I recolor the eyes and colored the nose piercing

After that, I colored the lips and the skin with the palette

I added a background color and try to add color to the shirt

Lastly, to touch things up I added shadows for the skin color so it look more realistic like the real picture.

Reflection

Experience:

Although it is not my first time using photoshop, coloring a black and white images is new to me. I'm pretty happy with the result. But, I'm a bit confused on the physical collage project although I made it with an abstract concept.

Observation:

I'd say that photoshop is easier than illustrator for me. Probably because I used photoshop before and never touched Illustrator before I start design class.

Findings:

Asking Google and Youtube for things I didn't know is really helpful and faster than figuring it out by myself.
